[pdal] PDAL equivalent of lassplit

Hi there list,

This is my first post, so as traditional I will ask a question!

Is there an equivalent to lassplit in the PDAL toolbox?

Have been looking at discussions

(actually I am using the same data, and am also having problems with memory
consumption).

I guess it's possible to compile Liblas and the lastools on my (Linux)
system, and use lasmerge as specified above but just checking there is no
alternative in PDAL first, as this seems quite long-winded.

Would love to try pgpointcloud but this is proving a bit of a hurdle!
