Oh yeah, I forgot about this. I'm running Debian Lenny with:
PostgreSQL 8.3.9 on x86_64-pc-linux-gnu, compiled by GCC gcc-4.3.real
(Debian 4.3.2-1.1) 4.3.2
POSTGIS="1.3.3" GEOS="3.0.0-CAPI-1.4.1" PROJ="Rel. 4.6.0, 21 Dec 2007"
USE_STATS
I hate doing upgrades, but that is not the point.
Are you or anyone working on these issues?
Would this make sense as GSoC project (the PostgreSQL 8.4 and PostGIS
1.4/1.5 part)?

Clearly some discussion needs to happen here. I think we started this
discussion a while back when the Orkney server died. Have you and Daniel
had any additional thoughts on your preference in this regard?
I'm also not convinced that this issue requires a PSC to make it happen,
I think it is up to the current maintainers of the site to decide if it
would be easier to mange else where. In the spirit of the PSC they could
post a proposal to the list and ask the community if anyone has strong
objections or has an alternate proposal that they would like to bring
forth. This is likely what we would do on the dev list if we had a PSC
in place.
All the best,
-Steve
