[Portugal] off topic, instrumento ou sensor?

Nessa interpretação um instrumento é o mesmo que um satélite!?

Estou mais virado para: um conjunto de sensores, cada um medindo um
determinado comprimento de onda, formam o instrumento (de instrumentação
ou hardware), a bordo de um determinado satélite.

De alguns glossários que encontrei sobre 'remote sensing' o mais completo
foi este <http://landsat.gsfc.nasa.gov/references/glossary.html> e mesmo
assim não aparece uma definição para 'instrument', apenas para 'sensor'....
