I've added in CVS an initial configure script, aimed at
reducing format errors in Makefile.config.

Run autoconf to obtain a configure from configure.in.

Then you can use ./configure \ 
	--with-geos=path_to_geos-config \
	--with-proj=PROJ_DIR \
	--with-pgsql-src=PGSQL_SRC_DIR

Note that so far there are no autodetects, just checks on
provided paths. As before environmental variables are honoured
(at configure time, not later).
The configure script will print a summary of configured paths.
