Not necessarily; the aim is more to find a tool/mechanism to build the
JDBC driver on both Windows and Unix platforms.

I've had a quick look at this, and AFAICT Maven is framework that sits
above the build process to manage project building for you (in other
words, it still needs a build tool such as Ant working underneath it).
I've done a reasonable amount of Java coding to know how Ant works, but
not Maven. I would suggest the best thing to do would be to write a
proposal and post it onto the list for comment.

Markus and Norman are the main Java users; I'd suggest browsing the
source and then posting questions back to the list for someone more
knowledgeable to comment upon.
