  What's dragon fly? by the way I updated the README in both trunk and
  branch.  Maybe we should have an RC2?

DragonFlyBSD is a fork of FreeBSD:

I run NetBSD, but pkgsrc is also the offical packaging system for
DragonFly and thus people put portability patches into pkgsrc.

If you think it's too late in the 1.3.4 cycle there is certainly no harm
in that patch sitting in pkgsrc another release.  It can instead go in
postgis svn right after 1.3.4, unless of course someone has a technical
objection.  But it looks pretty safe, so if you want to add it that
would be nice.

I think an RC2 might be in order anyway, with the directory name
unpacking to postgis-1.3.4 so it looks exactly like 1.3.4 will look,
except for the rc2 name in the tarball.
