 Okay so the Geos threw an Error being missing is probably an artifact of
 the new cascading union feature --- should we consider that a bug?  Its
 different behavior from 1.3

 The 1.3 I was testing on is also using GEOS 3.1.1 so I think we can rule
 GEOS out as the culprit.   I'm okay to let this slide if everyone else is.
