Speaking of which.  I guess I should figure out if I really need them in my production code anymore.  I have some code in triggers that uses them to get around the strange bug I had that the bboxes weren't being recalculated at times though I suspect that may have been a gist bug that was fixed with the last 8.3 patch.  Though I'm fearful of removing that code since its served me so well.
