 Olivier,

 Now I remember why I had my suspicions about ST_Area.  I don't think our
 ST_Area supports 2.5D polygons and aren't all the faces of the polyhedral
 surface 2.5D polygons?  In which case -- it probably needs some work.

 But saying ST_Dump works with polyhedral surfaces I guess is safe to say.
