Comment(by strk):

 The log shows linker being unable to find symbols in the postgresql
 library.
 But I'm not even sure it should look for them (rather than finding them at
 link time).
 All I know is that the same symbols were in 1.5 as well, so they were no
 problem when fully within the PGXS framework.

 Mark can probably help with this.
