I don't understand why this is necessary. Upgrading postgresql means
that you then need to install a version of postgis that is built against
the new postgresql version. When I do this in pkgsrc, there is no need
to even know about symlinks to library versions.
Is the postgis package you are using somehow not tied to a postgresql
version?
Are you doing something other than dump/restore?
