+1 for GEOS 3.6 upgrade, SFCGAL 1.3.1+

Pramsey I think already more or less approved.

strk, dustymugs – have any dissenting opinion or you on board?

Thanks.

I cleaned up < Postgres 9.5 code in trunk:

https://github.com/postgis/postgis/commit/06eebf5bc3a7bd36cb0ada3ea6512856073999f2

Created a ticket to bump:
https://trac.osgeo.org/postgis/ticket/4268 SFCGAL to 1.3.1.

https://trac.osgeo.org/postgis/ticket/4267 GEOS to 3.6.

FreeBSD has 3.6.3, see:

NetBSD has 3.7.1, see:

trusty is supported until April 2019.

xenial is supported until April 2021.

bionic is supported until April 2023.

trusty is really showing its age, many recent releases of projects have
issues with its outdated packages. I also wouldn't worry too much about it.

xenial also lacks some things, but is not as bad as trusty.

Everyone who want to build recent releases on Ubuntu LTS should be using
bionic.

I also wouldn't worry about non-LTS releases, as they are only supported
 for less than a year.

Kind Regards,

Bas
