I like that idea. I can release 2.5 alpha1 this weekend or early next.

Everyone okay with that idea?

Thanks,

Regina

I'd prefer to have chance to get SP-GiST geometry indexing done for 2.5/11 couple, as Postgres 11 has SP-GiST compress callback that makes such index possible.

Also there was quite an overhaul in trunk warnings and datatypes, so release would help break and fix more of those using lwgeom directly.

How about we release 2.5alpha1 right now so it's targeted at those using 11beta1?

PostgreSQL 11 beta came out this week so guess we should start thinking
about PostGIS 2.5.

1) Do we want to do PostGIS 2.5 release a little before PostgreSQL 11, or
wait another year to line up with PostgreSQL 12?

2) If we do go for releasing with 11, we should probably do our feature
freeze in another 6-8 weeks and spend July thru September ironing out the
features we have in place.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Regina
