I'm fine with that, have always been.
Trac is only where you want to go to have more chances of things
being put under a milestone.

Well, you should be less lazy, I always try to put trac references
in NEWS too, and in commit logs. Of course if there's no such trac
reference, you can't do that (oh well, I can let that go).

If discussion around a feature/bug was conducted OUTSIDE of trac,
we want git history (and/or NEWS) to contain a reference to that
place (hoping it'll last and be still accessile in the future).
Doing all tracking in git is an idea many projects are trying
to address (distributed bug tracking, git-based review systems).
I'd love to experiment with them at some point.
