I can't find geos 3.11, and I'm pretty sure that's because it doesn't
exist. Might be good to say "recent unreleased geos" to give the
right impression.

This is a little mysterious to me. But I am guessing that the feature
itself in compilers is flaky (meaning that for valid programs it fails
to get the correct result). I'll give it a try after the regular build.
