 This issue sounds very similar to the one noted here: #2267

 Can you do me a favor and run the tests in that ticket to confirm we are
 looking at a different issue.  Also can you let us know how you compiled
 postgres -- e.g. with cassert enabled.  I had only tested on production
 postgres and cassert enabled sometimes shows issues you don't see in
 standard production compiles.
