 Or I might have found another way to catch this via upgrade testing,
 see how you like r16225 (and let's keep an eye on Drone, which does
 test upgrade from 2.2.3 to 2.5.0dev (see line 2414 on
 https://drone.osgeo.org/postgis/postgis/783)
