 Yes, the simpler test case has the same questionable behaviour with
 POSTGIS=3.4.2 GEOS=3.11.1-CAPI-1.17.1.

 I also tried POSTGIS=3.4.2 GEOS=3.12.2-CAPI-1.18.2 and it has the expected
 (good) behaviour.
