 I've a fix for this based on a new GEOS function that will be in 3.16 (
 https://github.com/libgeos/geos/issues/1543 ).
 This means that building against an older GEOS would still NOT catch the
 invalidity, which I don't like.

 An alternative would be to implement interior intersection detector in
 PostGIS itself
