[postgis] anyone tried packaging for debian?

Mandrake 8.1 binary RPMS are available at
http://postgis.refractions.net/rpms and should probably work for 8.0
also. The SRPM is still there for people w/ other distros. It *should*
compile relatively easily under other distros. If you find dependencies
are getting your goat, go into the spec file and comment out some of the
interface bindings.

As far as putting work into getting Debian packaging goes, if it is not
too much work, they fly at her. We have started to add dependencies into
the CVS version (proj4 is required for transform() support now) and that
means I am going to have to try to update the configuration to be more
automatic (some autoconf may be required). How that will affect optimum
packaging practices I am not sure yet...
