[postgis-users] Intersection returns geometrycollection

It depends on the type of intersection you have with
polygons and multipolygons: crosses, contains,
overlaps. 

It might be that the intersection is  (lines +
points), not multipolygon. So that's the reason why
it could be a geometrycollection.
