[postgis-users] Distance of a geometry inside another

Hi, 

Example: I've got the layers Roads and States. A road
"R" measure 1000km but just 100km from it is within a
state "S". How could I calculate it? 

I'd like to know how I could calculate the distance
from a geometry inside another.
