[postgis-users] does postgreSQL 8.0 work on xp sp2?

XP SP2 comes with a built in firewall. I've not tried to get Postgres installed on an XP SP2 box but I'm sure you will have to open up the ports that Postgres listens on.

This would be a good starting point. Anybody else want to add anything...

Subject: [postgis-users] does postgreSQL 8.0 work on xp sp2?

we're having the dickens of a tiem getting 8.0 to install on an xp sp2
box. during installs it's throwing error messages "cannot connect to
database (on creating procedural languages and activating contrib
modules)" ,etc.

when we try to connect via pgadmin, we're getting swell "psql: could
not receive server response to SSL negotiation packet: Connection
reset by peer" errors.

any ideas?

thanks.
