  Christian, did you try the native Windows version of PostgreSQL? This should be much easier to install and it offers improved performance. There's an installer for PostGIS available that works with the latest Windows PostgreSQL installer: http://dcmms.sourceforge.net/postgis_installer.php If you want to compile yourself, just get MinGW and MSYS.
