I'm sorry, srtk, I don't understand exactly what you
mean by that. Can you give me an example of how I
would check the linking. (I'm not very familiar with C
or C++.)

If it helps, I am running libstdc++ version
2.96-112.7.1 which I am told is often incompatable
with newer software because it is so old. If libstdc++
needs to be upgraded then we will upgrade our postgis
machine to SuSE 9.2. Do you know of any issues with
running postgis/geos on SuSE?
