Good point Paul. I also should have mentioned that you need to give credit
when you make derivative works of a BSD licensed product. Considering the
length of the two licenses, I'm sure I missed a bunch of other differences
too. :-D
Other than one class on Information Systems Law in grad school 5 years ago,
I don't know anything about licenses... if anyone wants to know the real
differences you should probably read them yourself and talk to an attorney
(nice disclaimer eh?)

Only if you distribute your code. If you keep it in your basement (or
your company) you don't have to make your changes public. The key work
in the *GPL licenses is "redistribution".
