I just found out myself that I forgot to compile the above mentioned
pacakge with geos and proj support and such might not be useful to
so many peoble ;-) I have place a new package (version 1.0.4,
release 2) on the same ftp-server as the first one (see links below).
Furthermore I now asked for reviewing the package in the Fedora
Extra project so that I hope that it will be available directly from
the Fedora archives in midterm. Please follow bug number 171040 if
you are interested in the progress.
