[postgis-users] get coordinates from linestring

Hello!

I hope to have a basic question, but i cannot find anything about it in the
manual or in the maillist. Right now i am working with 2D linestring, which are
non linear, but i am planning to convert them into 3D. My question is, if there
is a possibility to calculate the horizontal and, for the futur, vertical
spatial difference between all the different vertices of the linestring. If I
have a non-linear linestring, with many points, I know I can find
the total distance of the line with "length(geom)". Or is there a way to convert
the linestring into a table of many short linesegments from vertex to vertex?
