Hi,
I've tryed your shp2pgsql for shape file with japanese character.
It works fine with "-W cp932" option in my WInXP pc. There is no
problem conversion to UTF-8. CP932 is an encoding with MS windows
japanese edition.
I hope this report help you.
Thanks,
Akio Takubo
