My name es René Viancos, Electrical Engineer, with 8 years of experience en
GIS development. Currently i'm the Geomatics and IT Director of the Unit of
Spatial, Regional and Territorial Analysis, In the Sciences Facultity,
Universidad de Chile.

     What are you using PostGIS for?


We are using postgis for webmapping developments, web spatial analisys,
remote spatial database repository using the Armin's arcview postgis
connector called avpgconn, custom coordinate system transformation,
reproyection and Datum Shift, with custom EPSG codes, and custom parameters
and some hacks :)

     Why did you choose PostGIS?


We have choosen postgis because is a great Free (from Freedom) Spatial
Database Engine. Our Systems are currently based 90% en Open Source Spatial
Software.


     What makes you happy about your PostGIS installation?


I love the compilation of postgreSQL and PostGIS from source code, y use
PostGIS from the beginning, and the beginnig was only SourceCode.

The WIN32 port of Postgres and PostGIS are nice.

     What makes you unhappy about your PostGIS installation?


Nothing makes me unhappy with opensource, o yes, i have something tha makes
me unhappy with the postgis win32 install: when ArcSDE is present on the
same machine, PostGIS does not delete or overwrite ArcSDE instalation :)...
just kidding...
