[postgis-users] Error message: "invalid geometry"

Hi there,

strange, I hardly found any information on google for the following  
error:

xxx=# insert into gtest (id, name, geom) values (1, 'first geometry',  
GeomFromText('LINESTRING(2,3,4,5,6,5,7,8)', -1));
ERROR:  parse error - invalid geometry
CONTEXT:  SQL function "geomfromtext" statement 1

Can anyone help me out? I am just starting with PostGIS, have  
everything (?) installed (running a Mac), and follow the example of  
the postgis-doc.
