[postgis-users] postgis installation on current Postgresql (8.1) database (on Debian)

hey david and all,
   thanks for replying.
I tried the first step and it raised an exception

sudo apt-get postgresql-dev
E: Invalid operation postgresql-dev

I googled and did not find much.

Can you help me out. If you tell me what info to look at (give you), I
can do that.
