[postgis-users] UK & Australia Geo dataset

For commercial or fee based "semi-public" data you have some choices.  
The Ordinance Survey is the UK's (now quasi-private) national mapping  
agency, and my guess is they would be happy to sell shapefiles to you  
under license. The same is likely to be true for both TeleAtlas and  
Naveteq.
