[postgis-users] ASCII Raster into PostGIS ?

Hi,

  I would like to store an ASCII Raster file (.asc, exported from  
ArcMap) into a PostGIS base. As far as I can see the CHIP  
datastructure would be OK for that. Could anyone explain me how the  
INSERT clause should look like or do I have to write my own datatype  
- something like offsetx double, offsety double, rows int, cols, int  
chips chip[]...

Any suggestions ?
