Hi Stefan,

I can't recreate this using PostgreSQL 8.1 / PostGIS 1.1.6 on Linux.
Could you try upgrading to PostGIS 1.1.6 (no dump/restore required) and
see if the problem still exists?

Also, can you try your example creating a brand-new database, load the
PostGIS functions, load your table, and then try creating a shapefile
with pgsql2shp? This will help prove that there is no corruption in the
database which could be causing this.
