FYI, the term you want is "geodetic".

"Geocentric" coordinates are triples, (x, y, z) measured in 3-space 
relative to the center of the earth.

"Geodetic" coordinates are angular coordinates (lat, lon) measured 
relative to a reference origin angle (equator, greenwich) or (equator, 
paris) or ...
