Hi Ivan,

I'm not sure exactly what the validity rules are for shapefiles, however
in your case it would be OGR that would determine how invalid polygons
would appear in the shapefile. Regardless of whether the source data is
at fault, or OGR's method of handling invalid geometries, PostGIS is
still wrong in accepting them in (E)WKB format.
