[postgis-users] Testing for empty feature

How do I test for an empty feature such as 'MULTIPOLYGON(( EMPTY ))' ?

IsEmpty seems to work only for collections.

astext(wkb_geometry) = 'MULTIPOLYGON(( EMPTY ))' doesn't seem to work.
