Thanks Vincent - that worked on my desktop version of PostGIS, feeling a bit
daft now.
Will try the phpPgAdmin now...

PgAdmin III does not show everything by default, especially types,
aggregates, or system catalogs.
Verify in pgadmin : File->preferences->display to ensure your aggregates
should be displayed.
