Not sure if this is the same problem, but when I upgraded to 14.04, along
with a new version of postgis/postgresql, postgis failed. The warning were
different. With help I discovered that I had conflicting libraries
installed that were causing the problem.

If you have older versions of postgis installed, make sure to remove all
the old libraries starting with liblwgeom.
