[pycsw-devel] upcoming release version proposal

FYI there has been some discussion around what the next release version number should be.  We are currently at 0.2.0-dev in trunk.  Having said this, pushing up the release version would help in communicating that the codebase is:

(based on advice from #osgeo on irc as well)

- relatively stable (no major code rewrites from scratch)
- generally useful and stable
- doing what it's set out to do

I think there are enough features in trunk (http://pycsw.org/introduction.html#features) as well as passing the OGC CITE tests, to warrant a 1.0.0.

I propose to release the next version of pycsw as 1.0.0, with the following timeline

- 20 June 2011: 1.0.0-beta1
- 24 June 2011: 1.0.0-rc1
- 29 June 2011: 1.0.0 final

What do folks think?  Any objections?
