congratulation! - we welcome you on board :-). I added you as coordinator
to the wiki DocumentationWritersCorner. As you probably have seen Arthur Nanni
and Christian Ferreira coordinate and translate the portuguese_BR versions.

we are currently updating end extending the english manual for the QGIS 1.0
release, mainly coordinated by Tara. If you like to join that group as well, we
would be happy of course. There will be an IRC meeting tomorrow:

And you are right, it makes sense to wait with translations into portuguese,
spanish, italian, german etc. until manual version 1.0 is released.
