I do not think we should move away from this.
IMHO all the documentation should be modular, so that simply changing the index will
result in different custom manuals (e.g. I could include the general part and the
forestry one, skipping the database, and so on). In this sense, your proposed
addition would be an optional additional chapter of the standard manual.
I think this initiative is important, as it has the potential to make QGIS more
immediately useful for particular groups of users.
