[Qgis-developer] gpsbabel bundling

I almost have an OSX binary ready.  One question about gpsbabel - the  
gpsimport plugin says it needs gpsbabel "where Qgis can find it".  I  
would like to bundle gpsbabel in Qgis, so is the Contents/MacOSX/bin  
folder added to the PATH within Qgis so that it could be found there?

Maybe it would need a similar treatment like the msexport.app and  
qgis_help.app in the bin folder?
