Well, splitting python off into a plugin doesn't require a change in packaging,
it just opens the option to do so.
There's also be the option to produce lean (w/o dependant packages) and fat
installers (including all dependencies) or anything inbetween - but that
wouldn't make packaging any easier anymore ;)
