[Qgis-developer] QGIS creating defective shape-files?

I have been told several times by ESRI users that sometimes they have shp that
do not open in Arc*, so they open it in qgis, save it again, and reopen in Arc*,
whithout an error.
Being non-topological, shapefiles are inherently fragile objects in my view.
