[Qgis-developer] Caluclate Distance

Hi 

I'm new to QGIS. I'm writing a C++ application and would like to use QGIS to calculate the distance between two WGS84 lat/long points. Can anyone point me towards code examples or documentation which describes which QGIS classes I need to use and how to use them?
