[Qgis-developer] New labeling with print composer

Question re the new labelling engine. It works well on the map canvas, but
rendering in print composer has a number of problems:

 

1.       Label placement is too low. For example, with line layers, if
'above line' is selected, the label appears almost over the line, and if
'below line' is selected, the label appears well below the line. With  point
layers where 'around point' is selected, then if the label is displayed
below the point it is so far below that it can appear to be associated with
another point when points are tightly clustered.

2.       Spacing between characters in labels is all over the place.
Characters can run into each other, other have unreasonably large
separations.

 

These may be known problems, or is it specific to particular operating
systems - Windows Vista 64 in this case?
