Personally, I haven't even started thinking about the migration yet. As we 
have a huge number of plugins written in Python 2.x, the only reasonable 
moments for the migration are qgis 2.0 or 3.0. I don't know when the 2.0 will 
arrive. If this Summer, it rather won't be the time for switching yet. If this 
Winter - well, hard to foretell...

Anyway, for the next few months Python 2.x doesn't seem endangered, so I would 
advise to start with it. The changes won't be drastic :)
