[Qgis-developer] editing nodes

I find that the new arrangement for editing nodes in a polygon or line 
feature is more difficult that before. Previously there was a set a 
buttons for moving nodes, deleting nodes, etc. Now there's the single 
"node tool" button. When clicking on a node, all nodes become red 
squares, and it's not clear how to select/move/delete a single node.  A 
second click seems to always select (change to blue color) a line 
*segment*, i.e. two nodes. Then any action - moving, etc - applies to 
both nodes.

Am I missing something? How do I select a single node?

The old multiple button toolbar seemed to me much more obvious.
